I am a chick, a little chick from my mother the hen. On the
first days of my life, I was in an egg. They say a chick’s egg should hatch
within twenty one days. Now that I came out of my eggshell, I can live just
like my mother. I love to eat just what chickens eat; seeds and rice. Most chicks
like me live on a farm. Some are destined to become food for humans to eat. It is
a good thing that I was able to hatch out of my eggshell and live normally to
become a chicken someday.

I am a Chick by Martina Pace
I am a chick and my name is Yellow. My name is Yellow,
because my feathers are all yellow. I have brown eyes. Around my neck there is a
collar and in the collar I have a small bell so that I won’t get lost. I live
in a big and clean house because I am the pet of a girl. This girl takes good
care of me. Sometimes she takes me for a walk. During the night I sleep in her
bedroom because I have a small bed of my own. She even takes me to school with
her! In the evening she gives me a small bowl of food so that I can eat. I like
being a chick and I’m really happy that I found this girl taking good care of
me.
I am a Chick by Anthea Falzon
I am a chick but I am not a mammal because I am covered with
feathers and not with fur. I am a yellow chick with black small eyes. I don’t
have brothers or sisters but I have lots and lots of friends like me. I love my
friends and they love me too because we play together in the fields all day
long. Every morning and evening, the farmer puts food and water in our bowls. When
some chicks are born, the farmer calls the vet to check them to keep them safe
and strong and healthy. I love to be a chick because I love Spring time in the
fields and meadows of the farmer’s farm.
I am a Chick by Martina Doublet
I am part of a family. My mum is a hen and my dad is a cock. I have
a fluffy body full of yellow feathers. I have two orange feet. I have a red
beak. I have yellow wings. When I was small I was in an egg. In six months time
I will be a hen. I eat and drink a lot. I am like a bird but I don’t fly. My stays
stays for twenty one days on the eggs to keep them warm. At EASTER time the
children draw a picture of me on their EASTER cards.
I am a chick by Leon Camilleri
My name is Leon and I am a chick. My mother is a chicken and
she has eight brothers and sisters. My body is covered with yellow feathers and
I hatched out of an egg. Life on the farm where I live is fun because I have
many friends there. Some of them are chicks like me but Bessie the Cow and Tony
the Pig are also my friends. The farmer likes me very much and I hope to grow
up to be a big rooster.
Daniel's Story
Angele and
James went to play in the park. It was a sunny day. They went to play hide and
seek. Angele hid in an apple tree and James was counting on the left of the
tree. Angele found a big egg and told James to come up the tree. James saw and
egg and it was very big, bigger than the ones he liked to eat. After a minute,
the egg made a big cracking sound. A dodo came out and they named him Daniel. They
went home and gave him peas to eat and they kept him and lived happily ever
after.

him to climb the tree in a hurry because she found something interesting. Clare
told Tom that there was a giant egg in a giant nest. Both of them looked at the
egg. To make it more interesting for them, the egg cracked. Tom and Clare were
very happy because from this egg a snake popped out. Day after day, Clare and
Tom went to visit the snake and they became good friends.

I found a magic key in my lunchbox one day! I felt very happy
because the magic key was big and golden. It flew and talked. It was alive
because it was talking and flying without stopping. I told everyone about my
magic key and about my magical adventures. They all wanted to keep the key but
I did not give it to anyone because it was mine!
I have bread for my lunch. My mother prepares it for me. I
found a magic wand in my lunchbox one day. I was excited. It made lovely magic
and it was pink. It was alive for me. I told my cousin about it. I kept it with
me and I used it for good deeds. The wand didn’t have arms. The wand was a
girl. When I met my friends I told them all about the wand. The wand helped me
with my homework. I called my wand Sarafina. My wand ate flowers and made pink
dust. It was decorated with blue hearts. At night my wand dreamt about me and I
dreamt about her. My wand had feet. I loved my wand.

For my lunch I have bread. My mum prepares it for me.
Yesterday I did not find bread. I found a magic key. It was glowing. It was
very nice. I was excited because it was very nice and shiny. It gave me super magic! I went home and told
my mum and dad and brother about it. Mum and dad wanted to keep it in a safe
place. They told me to keep it in a soft box in my room. That was very
exciting! Unfortunately, the key was not alive. When I held it, it glowed very
fast, said the magic words and I did just what it said. I went to places
without walking. It was great fun! I loved it. It gave me super magic! I went
home and told my mum and dad and brother about it. Mum and dad wanted to keep
it in a safe place. They told me to keep it in a soft box in my room. That was

Usually in my lunchbox I have bread. Sister Sylvia prepares my
lunch. In my lunch I found a toy. The toy was Batman. My reaction was a very
happy one. Batman ran fast in the playground. Batman was alive! I told my
friends about my magical toy and they became very excited. Batman was very
strong.

When I opened my lunchbox I found a skateboard. The skateboard
was small. I threw it in the rubbish bin. The lid of the rubbish bin opened and
the skateboard got out. All the rubbish inside the rubbish bin fell on the
floor with a bum…the skateboard landed on the table. When I returned home I
locked the skateboard in a cage, but it opened again. The skateboard had a key
and the key was glowing. It was time for an adventure!

It was time to eat at school, but I did not find my lunch…I
found something else. I found a stick instead of my bread my grandfather
usually gives me. I did not know what to do, so I put it in my bag. When I went
home the stick was calling me. I did not know what it wanted. When I went to do
my homework, I found out it was ready. The next morning I went to school but I
got the stick near my lunch and the same thing happened, but instead of the
second stick, I got a pipe. When I went to do a test in the test room I
remembered that I had forgotten all about studying. Instead of getting a zero,
I got full marks! The pipe had done all the work!
When I returned home I noticed that the stick and the pipe had
helped me at school, so I went on a journey to give them back. I searched the
entire Malta but I got no luck. On the next Wednesday, my mother took me to
England for a month. During that time, I searched England and before I gave up
I found a portal to another world and I found out where I had to return the
stick and the pipe. I made some new friends named Leon and John. When I went
back to my mother I found Leon and John waiting for me. Then I told my mother
what had happened. At first she did not believe me but when I showed her Leon
and John disguised, she had to believe me. The portal took us back to Malta in
our house and we did not tell anyone about the adventure we had. After school I
went to play with Leon and John and we played and enjoyed ourselves as never
before.

Usually I have bread. Today I found a special key in my lunchbox. I was happy. It was golden. At night it glowed and I woke up. My cat woke up and we went on an adventure. We went to a big forest and we met a big fat dog and a boy. His name was Luke. I want to keep the special key forever.
Anthea Falzon
At school I opened my lunchbox . I found my bread, my bottle and my cup. It was good because mum did it. Suddenly my lunchbox started glowing and my lunch disappeared and I doll appeared instead. I was shocked. Her face was pink and down. She had black hair and black lips and eyes. When I looked at her, she took me to a new world. She was alive. She told me to keep everything a secret, so I could not tell anyone. One day my mum saw the doll and gave it to her friend.

Our Switcheroozoo Animals
Our children were very busy creating creative animals using the site:www.switcheroozoo.com . They really created various unusual animals which do not exist in real life, but only in their imagination. Why don’t you try and create your animals too? We can compare and contrast animals and why not vote for the best three animals from each country?
Juan’s Switcheroozoo Animal -
Lionwolflizard
Lionwolflizard eats all animals. Lionwolflizard is 60 years old because he is the King of the forest just like the lion. He likes to play with his friends, the other animals. He likes to eat meat. Lionwolflizard likes to run. He likes jelly. Lionwolflizard likes to eat fish. He is covered with fur and so he is a mammal. He drinks water and milk.
Eric’s Switcheroozoo Animal - The Monstar
Monstar likes to live in a nice place. He is a snake
and a lizard and a wolf all in one! Monstar likes to eat meat. He is very big.
He likes running. He has little eyes,
but his neck is long. His body is big and brown in colour. His tail is long and it looks like that of a
tiger. He does not like meat, but eats plenty of green
grass.
Dejean’s Switcheroozoo Animal - Fighter
Daniel’s Switcheroozoo Animal - Firefallingpantsstartallbison
Firefallingpantsstartallbison is its name. It lives in the mountains and in winter it lives in the forest because the mountains are full of snow which Firefallingpantsstartallbison does not like. It eats grass. At night it goes to Nicole’s extra wooden house and sleeps in it. Fire comes out of its mouth especially when Firefallingpantsstartallbison is angry and furious about something.
