I am a Chick by John Paulo Dacayanan

I am a chick, a little chick from my mother the hen. On the first days of my life, I was in an egg. They say a chick’s egg should hatch within twenty one days. Now that I came out of my eggshell, I can live just like my mother. I love to eat just what chickens eat; seeds and rice. Most chicks like me live on a farm. Some are destined to become food for humans to eat. It is a good thing that I was able to hatch out of my eggshell and live normally to become a chicken someday.
